Type Beat Gazo

Portrait
After early work under other names and with collectives, Gazo focused his identity through the “Drill FR” freestyle series from 2019. His low voice, ad-libs, and adaptation of UK rhythms quickly moved him to the front of the scene.
The Drill FR mixtape and KMT album showed that the sound could reach far beyond drill specialists. Through wide-ranging collaborations without losing his weighty sound, Gazo became a central figure in French drill.
Sound anatomy
A Type Beat draws from musical codes and atmosphere. It does not reproduce the artist’s voice or any existing work.
A Gazo Type Beat is built around the 808: deep, mobile, and sometimes almost melodic. A dark piano, nylon guitar, viola, or vibraphone loop provides just enough harmony.
Drums should stay sharp, with selective kicks, dry snares, and restless hats. The gaps let a low voice and ad-libs become part of the instrumental itself.
